Veteran's Day 2012

Today our country observes Veteran's Day. It is meant to be a day to honor and appreciate the men and women who keep our country safe by serving in the armed forces.

Veteran's Day commemorates the day that World War I officially ended on November 11, 1918. It was signed into law by then President Woodrow Wilson as a federal holiday and it is the reason we have a day off tomorrow.

Please do what too many Americans fail to do on Veteran's Day--Thank a veteran for serving our country. If you know anyone in your family or neighborhood who is or has been in the army, navy, air force, marines, or coast guard, then take the opportunity to thank them.
